The advantage of storing your will with a third party (i.e. not at home) is that IF you lose your original will it is considered to be revoked, i.e. that you intended to destroy it and cancel it. Therefore lots of client choose to store their wills and deeds with their solicitors to avoid accidently revoking an important legal document.
